Checking in…

Sorry, its been a while…life kinda gets in the way. I have several projects going on at the same time. Lately, I have been working on completing some of them before I move onto others. I am seriously behind on my scrap booking, and have a large re-organizing thing going on. I finished up a scrap book of our trip to Florida last year so I have been giving the Silhouette a work out.genie sm

This is what is currently whats been rolling across my studio desk…

I also started Sandy Allnock‘s Copic Jumpstart class. I love her teaching methods in the On Line Card Class-Copics class, and felt there was more to learn from her.  I am really looking forward to it. We started with color wheels and glazing charts.

I’m also doing a huge purge of my home. Hoping to move next spring and don’t really wanna pack all this poop up! I keep having flashes of Hoarder episodes, going through my head as I clean, organize and donate our stuff! I hope to keep my momentum going, so I can finish our 2 big problem areas which is the basement and garage! Enjoy your long holiday weekend…ours is filled with all of the for mentioned tasks! 🙂

Clear & sheer class Day 4 part 2

Hi, welcome back! I loved the flower card Shari made and I wanted to make this card the most. I have 5 different white inks, read them all and only one said it was permanent. It wasn’t, days later I was still able to ‘lift’ the ink off with my fingers. I do have the correct ink on the way and plan on making several of these cards, because…it’s amazing!

Figured I’d show it anyways since it took a while to match up the stem and flower perfectly. God bless the makers of the Misti!! Thanks again for stopping by today.

Day 3 Clear & Sheer class

There were several different techniques to choose from but I was totally digging the glitter window one! Love it!

I really like how it turned out and will do it again…I’d like to pick up some brighter colors first. Here’s a close up…

I am hoping to get some free time this weekend to do more. I really enjoy the online card classes. Never, ever disappointed! Stayed tuned there is more to come! =)

Day 2 Clear & Sheer part 2 & 3

**To keep this post from being amazingly long, I will break this into sections.

Round 2 is about muting a patterned paper with vellum. I used a lot of vellum on this project. I love all and any super hero stuff.

Round 3 took a bit of time, and like six tries….sigh. The technique is dry embossing vellum. I didn’t have the supplies needed. (I only had thin vellum, this requires a thicker one.) So, I used two pieces, embossed it with the printout under both pieces. I omitted the pencil.

Coloring the back side with copics.  Copics don’t blend on vellum very well. Still a cool technique and I wanna try it again with the thicker vellum! Thanks for stopping by today…stay tuned!

Day 2 Clear & Sheer part 1

**To keep this post from being amazingly long, I will break this into sections.

There was a lot going on today…3 different projects. Round 1 was about coloring vellum.

I used a digital image by Mo, beach baby. I’m playing along with her challenge #262. Anything goes with a Mo image.

I colored her with copics, then cut the colored vellum with Hero Arts ink.

I added Wink of Stella on her suit, but you can’t tell on my photos.  Glad you stopped by today, hope you have a lovely creative weekend!

Clear & Sheer Online Class

I signed up for the latest on line card class. It’s all about vellum and acetate. Day one showed 11+ ways to adhere vellum. One of those ways is to stitch it.

I’m not a big fan of the stitching, but this one turned out pretty cool!  Thanks for stopping by today!

WC IT Day 5

Check out the Online Card Classes and Dawn’s blog Stamp Away With Me.

Day 5-floral and leaves: “Expressive painting can be intriguing for both the painter and the viewer: we are creating just enough detail to establish the subject and leaving the rest open to the viewer to visually fill in the blanks.”

My floral were ok.  The roses turned out fine, but I wish I had used a different color…and my cascading flowers, well almost wasn’t. I dropped my brush and made a big ole mess. Luckily I was able to trim and hide my blunder. I love it when you can save a card!

Class will soon be winding down and I will miss it but I plan to practice, and improve over time! I highly recommend this class (any, really)…you won’t be disappointed! Thanks for coming by today, I appreciate it. Have a great weekend!
